MFAs can be controversial, from accessibility issues to representation to funding, but they can be supportive. Preparing your Statement of Purpose and Writing Sample are keys to getting into a program that's best for you. Get targeted feedback to help put your best pages forward.
Includes:
- line edits on manuscript (up to 30 double-spaced pages)
- feedback letter on areas of strength and opportunities for improvement
- line edits on Statement of Purpose (up to 2 pages)
- one-on-one Zoom meeting (optional, 30 mins)

Generative Writing
Come write with me!
Writing together can help bring out our creativity and give us accountability. Come for virtual or in-person writing time led with thought-provoking writing prompts. Participants are invited to share work. The goal is to leave with ideas and starting points for creative work.

Creative Writing 101
A survey course for emerging writers.
This 10-week survey course is designed to develop a deeper understanding of nonfiction, fiction, flash, micro, spoken word, hybrid, and poetry. This course provides writers with the opportunity to examine writing as a craft that can be developed and analyzed through thoughtful consideration of texts. It focuses on the power of written language as a tool to examine and communicate social inequities. Sample texts include work by Jesmyn Ward, Aimee Bender, Ilya Kaminsky, Mira Jacob, Elissa Washuta, Kiese Laymon, and T Kira Madden.
