As some of you know, I've been focusing more on my memoir project and applying to residencies. Some might say-- just rent an Airbnb to write. But residencies provide a time and space (and meals) to focus on a project, to connect with other artists, and also help build cultural capital on a CV to open doors. So I'm excited to announce that I was accepted to the prestigious Vermont Studio Center (VSC) for a summer residency. After seeking advice from writer friends and mentors, I've decided to create a crowd source funding page to help make this more accessible. (One writer said she's been twice and encouraged me to go; it's life-changing she said.) The deadline to commit and pay the non-refundable deposit was today, so I went ahead and paid it (eeek!).
If you're able, you can donate here.
